Perhaps I will need to peruse other routes..., this feels like only way to know everything is to do so. Vantage point and backstories.
Do the sprites really accentuate different areas of the body? I think I just focused on the tits and bulge for all of them (Well the characters with slits don't have bulges but you know what I mean).
And yes, you should read as many of the routes as you can. It's the best way for you to understand what's going on.
There is a small part of each character's design that stands out more than the rest. Wyatt its his pecs because of the way his jacket is, Conner is more upper body/shoulders, Kamil general all rounder, Lion was more lithe looking but more so his face cause lion (^^;), Professor obviously big everywhere!, Orca looks are in line to his timidness, and Bird probably the pose and thus elbows. Examples to say that each character is done in a way that sets them apart, so they never seem to have the same build/body shape.
I will look into other routes with update(s), it may be because of choices made, but I only had three options.
Ah yes, I did make sure to make the cast as diverse as possible in terms of looks. I'm glad you enjoyed them!
And make sure you try to experiment with different options to get the other routes you're missing. There are only five routes so see which ones you're missing.
